Iranian short flick ‘Flying Fishes’ has been selected to compete at the 16th Kinofilm & Manchester International Film Festival in the UK.
Directed by Mohammad Towrivarian, the short is about a teacher who is new to a village.
He notices that the only girl in his class does not talk and has cigarette burn on her skin.
Also among the accolades bagged by the short film are the Best Film award at the VKRATZE International Film Festival in Russia, the Platinum Medal from the 51st Houston International Film Festival in the US as well as Best Film Award at the 6th Rainbow Serpent Festival in Australia.
Running for more than 20 years, the Kinofilm fest celebrates the talents of emerging and established filmmakers.
The fest is famous for showcasing the best short films and debut features from around the world.
The 16th Kinofilm is slated for February 24–March 1, 2020.
